Because I could not stop for Death

(A reworking of the poem by EMILY DICKINSON – as suggested in the prompt of #napowrimo )
I could not stop for Death – He kindly stopped for me – The Carriage held but just Ourselves –
Because there’s no time to stop for death,

he agreed kindly to stop for me.

The carriage held just ourselves

and immortality.

We slowly drove as he needn’t haste

and I had to put away

my labor and my rest

for his respect.
